Wendy Copus

Wendy Copus serves as the Director of Human Resources for the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Revenue since March 2018. Prior to this role, Wendy held the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection from April 2016 to March 2018. Wendy's career in human resources includes serving as the Corrections Human Resources Supervisor at the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections from June 2014 to April 2016, where responsibilities included managing FMLA and grievances, employee coaching, and corrective actions. Wendy also directed human resources at the Wisconsin Early Autism Project from August 2004 to June 2014, focusing on EEO/AA, recruitment, and employee relations. Earlier in Wendy's career, experience as an Employee Training Coordinator at CBOCS and as a Personal Banker at Firstar Bank contributed to a strong background in employee development and relations. Wendy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater after completing education at Milton High School.
