Robert Mentzer

Robert Mentzer possesses extensive experience in journalism and editorial roles, currently serving as the Interim Assistant News Director and Reporter at Wisconsin Public Radio since April 2019. Previously, Robert was the Living & Storytelling Editor at USA TODAY NETWORK, overseeing a team of reporters across multiple newspapers in Wisconsin, while also acting as a storytelling coach. Additional roles include Engagement Editor and Regional Opinion Editor at Gannett, where Robert managed opinions and community perspectives. Earlier career highlights include serving as Opinion Editor and Community Conversation Reporter at the Wausau Daily Herald, coupled with a rich educational background that includes a Master's degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing from Miami University.
