Mac Blessen

Mac Blessen is an experienced legal professional with a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently serving as an Assistant State Public Defender since October 2022, Mac represents clients in various criminal cases and advocates for individuals in guardianship and civil commitment hearings. Prior legal experience includes internships with the Federal Defender Services of Wisconsin and the Federal Appeals Project, where Mac conducted legal research, draft motions, and argued before a federal appellate court. Additionally, Mac has a strong background in communications and administration, having held roles at Families USA and Working America, where responsibilities included managing schedules, drafting documents, and executing communications strategies. Mac holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Hamilton College.
