Julie Lawrence has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1996 with Bright Horizons as a Program Coordinator. Julie then moved to Montessori Unlimited as an Administrative Director in 2002, followed by North Central College as a Coordinator of Secondary Placements and Partnerships in 2006. In 2010, they joined Rasmussen University as an Academic Dean and Program Coordinator of Early Childhood. In 2022, they began working for Collegis Education as an Instructional Designer, and most recently, in 2021, they joined Wisewire Ed as a Lead Instructional Designer. Throughout their career, Lawrence has employed learner-centered design strategies to develop effective online, hybrid, and in-person courses and training to meet desired outcomes. Julie has also collaborated with SMEs, project managers, peer IDs, and programmatic leadership. Additionally, they have managed and upskilled faculty employees, employed Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Understanding by Design to train faculty, and taught early childhood and general education courses online, hybrid, and residentially.
Julie Lawrence has a Doctor of Education - EdD in Leadership and Online Education from American College of Education, obtained between 2018 and 2020. Julie also has a MA in Early Childhood Administration from National Louis University, obtained between 2000 and 2003, and a BS in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University Bloomington, obtained between 1990 and 1994. Additionally, Lawrence has obtained various certifications from various institutions, such as the Online Learning Consortium, LinkedIn, Coursera, Kahoot!, and EDUCAUSE, between 2021 and 2014.
