Shmuel Mekonen

Shmuel Mekonen is a seasoned database professional with extensive experience in various roles. As the DBA SRE Team Lead and DB Engineer at Wix since September 2020, Shmuel has enhanced database reliability and performance. Previously, Shmuel served as a Big Data & Databases IT Engineer in the Israeli Air Force from September 2014 to August 2020, where responsibilities included designing and implementing database solutions, testing new technologies, and collaborating with enterprise companies. Shmuel also worked as a Senior DBA, managing database administration tasks across multiple platforms. The career began with a Quality Assurance role at CrossReader from September 2013 to April 2014, focusing on content editing and quality assurance. Shmuel holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, completed in 2014.
