Helen Johnson has an extensive background in sales and account management within the broadcast industry, currently serving as Local Sales Manager at WJBF NewsChannel 6 since March 2005. Prior to this role, Helen held positions as Senior Account Executive and Senior Account Manager at WJBF-TV News Channel 6 from 2005 until March 2023. Earlier in Helen’s career, experience as National Sales Manager of WFXG & WXTX was gained from July 1994 to April 2004. Helen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and International Studies from Georgia Southern University.

WJBF NewsChannel 6 signed on in Augusta, Georgia as an ABC affiliate in November 1953 and is owned by Nexstar Media Group. WJBF–TV has been awarded the prestigious "Station of Year" award by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters in 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, and 2003. This prestigious award recognizes WJBF for excellence in broadcasting and service to the community. Our Mission Statement: To envision our responsibilities to the community and act. WJBF NewsChannel 6 is committed to keeping the CSRA informed. We are the only station in Augusta with full–time capital reporters in Atlanta, GA and Columbia, SC, three meteorologists, the area's only LIVE Doppler Radar, and the largest news staff in the CSRA.
