Freeman Shen

Freeman Shen has had a long and successful career in the automotive industry. Freeman began their career in 1998 as President, China at BorgWarner. In 2007, they became CEO of Fiat Powertrain China. In 2009, they joined GEELY as Board Member and Group Vice President, and then became Chairman and CEO. In 2010, they became Chairman and Senior Vice President at Volvo Cars, where they were responsible for launching Volvo Car China and establishing two car plants, one engine plant, one R&D center and a strong sales network. In 2015, they became Co-founder and CEO of Pateo Group, a Smart Car Technology Company focusing on vehicle connectivity, and also founded WM Motor, a leading new energy automobile manufacturing company.

Freeman Shen has a comprehensive education history. Freeman attended Zhixin Middle School from 1984 to 1987 and obtained a High School degree. Freeman then attended South China University of Technology from 1987 to 1991 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering Mechanics. From 1992 to 1994, they attended the University of California, Los Angeles and obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering. Freeman then attended the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 2001 to 2003 and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General. Finally, they attended Harvard Business School in 2013 and obtained an Advanced Management Program.
