Johnny Drain

Johnny Drain has a diverse work experience in the food and beverage industry. Johnny is currently serving as the CTO and Co-Founder of WNWN Food Labs since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London starting in October 2020. Additionally, they co-founded and co-edited MOLD Magazine since September 2016.

Johnny also has experience in entrepreneurship and sustainability. Johnny participated in Carbon13's Venture Builder program from March 2021 to September 2021, where they focused on building ventures to reduce CO2e emissions. Furthermore, they worked as an NPD Specialist at Young Foodies from November 2018 to August 2021, collaborating with food and drink startups to bring new products to market.

In terms of research and development, Johnny's experience includes working as a Food/Food Science Researcher at Nordic Food Lab from August 2014 to November 2014. Johnny also contributed to the development of a goat butter recipe for the renowned Restaurant Mirazur in February 2018.

Johnny has also pursued interests in fermentation and brewing. Johnny served as an Assistant Sake Brewer at Nøgne Ø - Det Kompromissløse Bryggeri AS in April 2017 and participated in a fermentation project with undisclosed company since January 2015.

Additionally, Johnny has experience in event organizing as a Summit Organizer for Techfestivalcph in August 2018. Overall, their work experience showcases a passion for food, innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

From 2009 to 2013, Johnny attended the University of Oxford, where they pursued a DPhil (PhD) in Materials Science.
