Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts
Diane McNeal Hunt has over 35 years of professional experience in the field of dance. Diane started their career in 1980 as a Performer/Teacher/Choreographer at Desert Dance Theatre, where they were involved in the growth and development of the company. Diane then went on to work as a Performer and Teacher at A Ludwig Dance Theatre, performing in original works and conveying socially and politically relevant ideas. In 1986, they joined Center Dance Ensemble as an Assistant Artistic Director/Education Director, where they choreographed new works and taught company classes and residencies for schools. Diane also served as the Director of Dance and Choreographer at Desert View Learning Center, teaching dance to students and providing choreography for school-wide performances. In addition, they worked as an Assistant Director and Master Teaching Artist at AZ Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts, integrating performing arts into the classroom curriculum and providing residencies in Head Start and Early Childhood campuses. In 2009, Diane became the Founding Artistic Director of ELEVATE DanceWorks, where they choreograph original works and designs master classes, workshops, and residencies for dancers of all levels. Throughout their career, Diane has been passionate about dance and continues to contribute to the dance community through their teaching and choreography.
Diane McNeal Hunt pursued their education from 1975 to 1980 at Arizona State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAE) with a specialization in Dance Education.
