Guntis Rutins

Guntis Rutins is a seasoned engineer currently serving as a Process Sustaining Engineer at Wolfspeed, focusing on critical reactor processes for SiC device manufacturing since May 2024. Guntis has extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing and optical coatings, having worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Central Florida, where significant contributions included the development of plasmonic nanostructured surfaces and non-destructive characterization methods. Previous roles include Thin Film Coating Engineer at LightPath Technologies, where Guntis optimized diamond-like carbon coating processes, and Coating Technician at Helia Photonics Ltd, characterized low-stress coatings. Guntis holds multiple degrees in Optics, Photonics, and Nanotechnology, including a PhD currently in progress and MS degrees from the University of Central Florida, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
