Angela Barnes

Director, Homes & Communities at WOLVERHAMPTON HOMES LIMITED

After 16 years working for Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council in a variety of housing services roles, Angela joined WH in 2005 as Area Manager and became Head of Community Investment in 2012.

She is responsible for lettings, housing support, and money advice. In December 2017, the City of Wolverhampton Council transferred the responsibility of housing options, housing outreach, and the management of temporary accommodation to WH, for which Angela is now responsible.

She is also developing the existing tenancy sustainment services. This is to prevent instances of homelessness and repeat homelessness, and to work more effectively with private sector landlords to give households further choice to meet their housing needs. Angela has a passion for and manages all matters related to safeguarding. 

She is a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has a master’s degree in Housing.
