Maritza Padua currently serves as the Vice President of Policy and Strategic Initiatives at Women Against Abuse, Inc., a position held since July 2023. Previously, Maritza held the role of Vice President of Community Relations and New Business Development at ENERTIA LLC from June 2022 to July 2023. From April 2018 to July 2023, Maritza was a Commissioner on the Governor’s Advisory Council on Latino Affairs. Maritza also worked as Community Outreach Manager at AmeriHealth Caritas from September 2018 to April 2022 and as a Public Affairs and Marketing Specialist at Keystone First from July 2013 to April 2022. Earlier in their career, Maritza served as Special Assistant to Councilwoman Quinones Sanchez at the City of Philadelphia from July 2008 to July 2013. Maritza is educated at the College for America at Southern New Hampshire University and the Community College of Philadelphia.

Women Against Abuse is the leading and largest provider of services to victims of domestic violence in both the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Our mission is to provide is quality, compassionate and nonjudgmental services in a manner that fosters self-respect and independence in persons experiencing intimate partner violence and to lead the struggle to end domestic violence through advocacy and community education. With over 100 staff, WAA serves more than 15,000 individuals each year through emergency housing (2- 100 bed shelter), transitional housing (15 apartments and support to various scattered housing sites), legal services, hotline counseling, education/prevention and advocacy.
