Esther Sportello

Esther Sportello is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in product leadership and technology across various sectors. Currently a member of Women Defining AI since June 2025, Esther focuses on creating a community for women to engage with AI. Prior roles include serving as a product leader at the United States Digital Service from June 2023 to June 2025, where the emphasis was on transforming benefit access in federal agencies. As a digital product manager at Mattel, Inc., from December 2022 to May 2023, Esther contributed to defining direct-to-consumer experiences and launching NFTs for iconic brands. The role of head of people technology at sweetgreen from March 2021 to November 2022 involved improving digital product experiences and optimizing hiring processes. Esther also spent six years at Capital One, leading initiatives to modernize banking experiences as director of product management. Esther holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware and completed SVPG Product Training.
