Rachel Shockey has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Rachel currently serves as the President/CEO of Women in Apologetics since October 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Executive Director and Board Chair at the same organization from May 2017 to October 2020. Additionally, Rachel has extensive experience as a Fine-art Artist, Illustrator, and Graphic Designer at Rachel Shockey Studio since August 2010.

Rachel's previous roles include working as an Assistant to Senior Pastor and Executive/Senior Staff at St. Paul United Methodist Church from December 2013 to January 2016. Before that, they worked as an Accuracy Management Coordinator at MedSolutions from October 2009 to August 2010. Rachel also had contract positions as a Payroll Coordinator at Aneco, M.C. Dean Inc, an Assistant Art Teacher at Greater Columbus Arts Council, and an Academic Tutor at Warner University in 2008.

In their earlier career, Rachel gained experience as a Public Relations Intern at Polk State Lake Wales Arts Center in 2008, a Promotions Assistant at Provident Music Group/Verity Records in 2006, and a Communications/Curriculum Assistant at South Lake Wales Church of God from 2004 to 2006. Throughout their career, Rachel has demonstrated their expertise in various fields, including painting, drawing, graphic design, administration, editing, and research.

Rachel Shockey has a BA in Contemporary Literary Studies with a minor in Communication from Warner University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2008. In 2006, they attended the University of Oxford for electives in English Language and Literature. In 2014, they completed a course on Ancestral Voices: The Earliest English Literature at the University of Oxford's Department for Continuing Education. From 2015 to 2019, they pursued a Master's Degree in Christian Apologetics at Biola University.
