Carla Sousa currently serves as the President of the Board of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Ciências dos Videojogos (SPCV) for the 2024/2025 period and holds multiple roles, including Psychologist focused on neurodiversity, Advisory Board Member for the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA), and Editor for the International Journal of Games and Social Impact. As an Integrated Researcher at CICANT, Carla engages in media studies and coordinates significant research labs while also overseeing doctoral and master’s students. An Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona, responsibilities include teaching various psychology and gaming courses. Past roles include service as a Visiting Scholar at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and as a Psychologist at APADP, supporting individuals with disabilities. Carla holds a PhD in Communication Sciences and has extensive experience in research and teaching within the fields of psychology, media, and gaming.
