Fatima Al-Shimari, MPH, is an accomplished epidemiologist with extensive experience in global health initiatives. Currently serving as an Epidemiologist at the Seattle Indian Health Board since November 2023, Fatima also chairs the Women in Global Health Seattle Chapter and has been an Advisory Panel Member for WGH's historic World Health Assembly Delegation in Geneva. As the Founder and Director of Kalema Nonprofit, established in 2022, Fatima focuses on mental health training and suicide prevention for adolescents and young adults. Previous roles include working as an Epidemiologist for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on hepatitis E vaccine research, consulting as a Project Manager at the Strategic Analysis, Research & Training Center, and research activities with various organizations, including the National Resource Center for Patient/Family-Centered Medical Home and the Uganda Cancer Institute. Fatima holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington and multiple bachelor's degrees in biology and biochemistry from the same institution, alongside a certificate from Duke University in global health challenges.
