Sandra Cano

Sandra Cano currently serves as the SBA New England Regional Administrator at the U.S. Small Business Administration, a position held since November 2024. Previously, Sandra held the role of Director of Commerce for the City of Pawtucket, RI, from January 2022 to November 2024, where responsibilities included overseeing economic development policies and programming. Sandra was also an RI State Senator for District 8 from January 2018 to November 2024. In earlier roles, Sandra expanded community banking efforts as AVP of Business and Community Development at Navigant Credit Union, served on the Pawtucket School Committee, and was a City Council Member in Pawtucket. Educational qualifications include a Master of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island and participation in executive leadership programs at Harvard Kennedy School.
