Community Manager at Women Who Code

Sapphire Duffy is the current Community Manager at Women Who Code. Sapphire has previous experience as a Product Consultant (Business Analyst) at Kainos, aCharged Collaborator at Charged, and a Product Owner at Totalmobile Ltd. Sapphire has also worked as a Program Manager at Oracle.

Sapphire has always been passionate about technology and its potential to change the world. Sapphire was first introduced to coding when they were just eight years old and has been hooked ever since. After completing a degree in Business Information Systems, they began their career as a business analyst. However, they quickly realized that their true passion was in product management and development.

Since then, Sapphire has worked on a number of innovative projects using cutting-edge technologies. These include an AR measuring feature for one of Kainos' main products, voice recognition using Alexa/Google Home to book visits or meeting rooms, and AR room booking for Android and iOS.

Sapphire is a strong advocate of the agile methodology and has used it to achieve efficient results in their projects. Sapphire is responsible for developing scope documents and defining epics/user stories that guide their team. Sapphire also demos our products to internal teams and customers.

In addition to their product owner role, Sapphire has also been involved in other projects such as time-sheets for the Invest NI R&D grant claim and they created designs using sketch for the sense platform.

Sapphire Duffy's educational career includes studying business information technology at Queen's University Belfast, where they achieved first class honours. Sapphire also attended Cambridge House Grammar School.

Sapphire Duffy reports to Alaina Percival, CEO, Co-Founder & Board Chair. Sapphire Duffy works with Natalia Daies - Director of Communications, Joey Rosenberg - President, Product Communications, and Sarah Healy - Digital Design Manager.
