Victoria Forster's work experience includes the following:
- Co-instructor at McMaster University Continuing Education since January 2023, teaching on the Family Engagement in Research Leadership Academy course.
- Patient and Community Engagement Lead at Women's College Hospital since August 2022.
- Co-founder of Cancer Survivor Social Media (#CSSMchat) since April 2019, a platform for cancer survivors, healthcare professionals, and researchers to collaborate and discuss the long-term effects of cancer treatment.
- Contributor at Forbes since November 2017.
- Postdoctoral Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children from February 2017 to May 2022, working on various projects related to pediatric cancers and cancer predisposition syndromes.
- Vice President of Social Media Strategy at Childhood Cancer Survivor Canada from January 2019 to January 2021.
- Postdoctoral Research Associate at Newcastle University from 2015 to 2017, focusing on leukemia fusion genes, DNA mutation and repair, and drug sensitivity targets.
- Visiting Research Fellow at The Hospital for Sick Children in April-May 2016, collaborating on a project examining the neurotoxic effects of childhood leukemia treatment.
- Academic author for The Conversation UK from June 2014 to March 2015, contributing articles on various academic topics.
- British Science Association Media Fellow at The Times newspaper in August-September 2014, where they published over 30 articles and attended the British Science Festival as a reporter.
Victoria Forster holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cancer Research from Newcastle University. Victoria also completed a course on Chinese Economy, Language, Culture, and History at Zhejiang University in 2008. Victoria Forster obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biomedical Science from Durham University. Currently, in 2022, they are pursuing further education on Family Engagement in Research at McMaster University, including participation in the Family Engagement in Research Leadership Academy.
