Lakesha Rivera, MS, CNM, RNC-OB has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Lakesha started their career as a Registered Nurse at Hartford Hospital in 2000 and later worked at Alcohol & Drug Recovery Center, where they provided health education and collaborated with the healthcare team. In 2010, they became a Nursing Manager at Community Health Center before transitioning to the role of a Case Management Nurse at Catholic Charities - Archdiocese of Hartford in 2011. From 2003 to 2016, they worked at Hartford Hospital as a Labor and Delivery specialist. Since 2014, they have been employed by Women's Health Connecticut as the Director of Clinical Operations. In this role, they author clinical guidelines and policies, analyzes clinical outcomes, and assists with quality and risk management efforts.
Lakesha Rivera, MS, CNM, RNC-OB, holds a Master's degree in Nurse Midwife/Nursing Midwifery from Philadelphia University. Lakesha also obtained a Certificate in Nurse Midwife/Nursing Midwifery from the Baystate Midwifery Education Program. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's of Nursing degree from American International College. In terms of additional certifications, Lakesha Rivera has completed the "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace" course offered by the University of South Florida in June 2021. Lakesha is also certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) by the American Heart Association. Furthermore, they are a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board. Additionally, Lakesha holds certifications in In-Patient Obstetrical Nursing from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a Licensed Nurse Midwife from the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Lakesha is registered as a nurse with the State of Connecticut.
