Paula Ferrada. M.D.

Paula Ferrada, MD, FACS, FCCM, MAMSE, currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Surgery and Medical Director of Perioperative Services at Inova Fairfax Hospital, as well as the Division and System Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. Paula has held various leadership roles within the American College of Surgeons, including Governor and Committee Chair positions, and is a member of several professional organizations such as the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Academically, Paula is a Professor at the University of Virginia and engages in editorial roles for several surgical journals. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Medicine from Universidad del Valle, General Surgery residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and multiple fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery. Paula is also pursuing the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and has completed the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program at Drexel University.
