George Clayton

George "Court" Clayton is an experienced fundraising and development professional currently serving as Chief Development Officer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since March 2019. Previously, Clayton was Principal at Groundswell Philanthropy, providing consulting services from August 2018 to March 2019. At the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Clayton held the title of Director of Development & Alumni Relations from August 2016 to July 2018, overseeing fundraising and alumni activities. As Associate Vice Dean of Campaign & Development at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from September 2013 to April 2016, Clayton managed the $450M Capital Campaign. Earlier roles include Senior Director of Major Gifts at Habitat for Humanity International and Associate Director at Boston College. Clayton earned an MBA from Boston College Carroll School of Management and a Bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University.
