Matthew Grund

Matthew Grund is a Senior Engineer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution since July 2016, focusing on the development of new capabilities for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles on the REMUS platforms. Previously, Matthew was Principal Engineer at Surf Zone Energy LLC from January 2014 to September 2020 and held the position of R&D Program Engineer at Hydroid, Inc. from January 2011 to July 2016, contributing to the expansion of AUV capabilities. Matthew's career also includes roles as a Software Engineer, developing operating software for AUVs and support systems, and as a Research Engineer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where oceanographic system software was developed. Additional experience includes positions as Senior Systems Engineer at JASCO Applied Sciences and an Engineer at the University of Washington, along with formative experiences as a Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Matthew holds a Master’s degree in Microwave Electronics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
