Nihar Paul

Nihar Paul is a Postdoctoral Investigator at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, focusing on submesoscale flows and internal waves, specifically studying advection-diffusion and dispersion in a geophysical context since August 2023. Previously, Nihar served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, from October 2022 to July 2023, working on Lagrangian Coherent Structures and oceanic measurements. Nihar's earlier experience includes a role as a Project Associate at Divecha Centre for Climate Change, contributing to research on passive scalar mixing in the Bay of Bengal, which resulted in a published journal article. Nihar began a professional career as a Project Engineer at Wipro Technologies, specializing in SAP SRM consulting for various functional areas within the PricewaterhouseCoopers project. Nihar holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, where research was conducted at the Centre for Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, and also obtained both a Master of Technology in Climate Science and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering.
