Alex Permanand

Alex Permanand has extensive work experience in the energy industry. From 2019, they held a leadership position as the Head of Discovered Resource Opportunities, Business Development at Woodside Energy. In this role, they were responsible for evaluating and delivering global growth options based on oil and gas resources. Alex managed a team to carry out business development activities, including asset screening and valuations. Prior to this, from 2016 to 2019, they worked at Shell as a Senior Commercial Advisor for LNG and as a Senior Strategy Advisor. Alex also worked as a Commercial Manager at BG Group from 2013 to 2016.

Alex Permanand attended Epsom College from 1997 to 2002. Alex obtained a LLB degree in Law from Queen Mary University of London, where they studied from 2002 to 2005. In March 2014, they obtained a certification in WSET Level 2 from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust.
