Akshay Bhumkar

Akshay Bhumkar is a highly experienced professional in the field of biochemistry, currently serving as Deputy COO at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research since October 2019. Prior roles include Project Manager, Research Infrastructure Manager, and Laboratory Manager at the same institute. Previous experience includes positions as Senior Research Officer and Research Assistant at UNSW Australia from July 2015 to October 2019, as well as Research Assistant and Tutor at The University of Queensland from 2009 to 2015. Akshay holds a Master of Philosophy in Biochemistry from The University of Queensland, with expertise in protein purification, analysis, and crystallography.
