Karen Coghlan

Karen Coghlan is a Research Compliance Analyst at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since May 2020, where responsibilities include co-developing and assisting with research compliance functions related to export controls, research integrity, and conflicts of interest. Previously, Karen held various roles, including Research Librarian and Education & Outreach Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine's New England Region, focusing on research data management and e-science education. Additional experience includes roles as a Metadata Intern at the U.S. Library of Congress, a STEM and technology teacher at East Bridgewater High School, and a Contracts Associate at Massachusetts General Hospital, where responsibilities encompassed drafting and negotiating various agreements. Karen holds a Master of Library & Information Science from The University of Alabama, a Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, a Master of Science in Biotechnology Engineering from Tufts University, and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of New Hampshire.
