Yan Wang is the William Smith Foundation Dean's Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute since December 2010, specializing in research related to lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, supercapacitors, lithium-ion battery recycling, and electrochemistry. Prior to this, Yan Wang served as a postdoctoral researcher at MIT from April 2009 to December 2010, collaborating with Professor Yet-Ming Chiang on ultrahigh energy density microbatteries funded by DARPA. Yan Wang holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in electrochemical engineering from Tianjin University and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in engineering materials, with a focus on fuel cells and energy, from the University of Windsor.
