David Olson is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in workforce development and public relations. Currently serving as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Workforce Solutions Capital Area since August 2017, David focuses on connecting local individuals to job opportunities in Austin/Travis County, Texas. Prior to this, David held roles including Communications and Grant Coordinator at Ewing Irrigation and Landscape Supply and Public Relations Specialist, where emphasis was placed on emotionally promoting product solutions to business customers. David's career began in the US Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist, which laid a foundation for effective messaging. Additional experience includes a role as Shift Leader at Securitas Security Services and an internship in Media Relations with the City of Tempe. David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Arizona State University and a certificate in Print and Broadcast Journalism from the Defense Information School.
