Chrispen Madondo has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health and psychosocial support. Chrispen started their career as a Teacher at the Zimbabwe Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in 2014. In 2017, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Zimbabwe, where they focused on geriatric mental health and neuropsychological research.

Following this, they joined the World Health Organization Zimbabwe & MOHCC as a Mental Health Technician, where they played a role in developing and implementing a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support program during an emergency.

In 2018, they worked as an Intern Clinical Psychologist at Harare Central Hospital, gaining practical experience in clinical psychology.

From 2019 to 2023, they served as a Psychologist at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, where they utilized evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions to treat clients in forensic psychiatric hospitals. Chrispen also conducted mental health and psychosocial support trainings for inmate peer counselors and correctional officers.

In 2020, they joined Workplace Options as a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Affiliate, further expanding their expertise in this field.

Most recently, in 2022, they joined the Mandipa Hope Rehabilitation Center as a Psychosocial Support Specialist.

Chrispen Madondo completed their Honours Degree in Psychology from Midlands State University, graduating in 2013. In 2020-2021, they pursued their International Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Health at Thammasat University. Following that, from 2023 to 2026, Chrispen obtained their International Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Global Health from the same institution. Alongside their academic qualifications, they acquired additional certifications such as "Mental Health Human Rights & Recovery: QualityRights E-training" from the World Health Organization in October 2021 and "Health in Detention" from the International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC in July 2021. Moreover, they hold the title of Intern Clinical Psychologist from the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe, although the specific dates of obtaining this title are not mentioned.
