Shailesh Shah

Shailesh Shah is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in risk management and advisory roles across various financial and educational institutions. Currently serving as a Board Trustee and a member of investment and development committees at the UNITED BOARD FOR CHRISTIAN HIGHER EDUCATION IN ASIA since 2020, Shailesh has also held advisory positions at startups such as Workscope and CarbonChain since 2018 and 2017, respectively. Prior to these roles, Shailesh was a Group Managing Director & Chief Risk Officer at UBS from 2011 to 2018, overseeing significant risk management operations for global teams and complex financial portfolios. With a solid educational background, including a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Leeds and a B.Sc. in Mathematical Physics from the University of Liverpool, Shailesh has been instrumental in shaping risk oversight strategies throughout a lengthy career that includes key positions at GE Capital, State Street, and J.P. Morgan.
