Ian Kaplan

Ian Kaplan has a diverse range of work experience in software engineering and development. Ian currently works as a Consultant in Software Engineering at Workstorm since 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Financial trading and quantitative model developer at Bon Bini Bay BV in 2021.

In 2017, Ian founded Topstone Software, an independent software consulting and development company. Ian'sresponsibilities included AWS architecture and application development, as well as Full-Stack web application development using Java and the Spring ecosystem.

From 2014 to 2022, they worked at nderground as a Software Architect and Full Stack Developer, where they designed and implemented the nderground social network.

Before that, Ian was a Computer Scientist at Lawrence Livermore from 2002 to 2017. Ian worked on projects involving network mapping and analysis, as well as developing and modifying multi-threaded software for an airborne spectrometer.

In 2008, they worked as a Senior Engineer in Independent Consulting, developing an intraday trading system for a start-up hedge fund using Java and Web Services.

From 2000 to 2002, Ian was a Senior Software Engineer at Prediction Company, focusing on the design and implementation of a computer-driven equity trading system. Ian also developed wavelet filter-based predictors for financial modeling and trading.

At Quickturn Design Systems/Cadence, they were a Group Lead and Senior Software Engineer from 1996 to 2000, where they served as the project lead for HDL Simulation Compilers, working closely with customers and marketing for Verilog application porting and benchmarking.

Ian Kaplan attended the University of Washington from 2011 to 2013, where they earned a Masters degree in Computational Finance and Risk Management.
