Liz Brailsford serves as President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth since February 2021, following a tenure as Chief Operating Officer at the World Affairs Councils of America, where strategic initiatives and community outreach were integral. Previous roles include Project Manager/Writer/Editor at Panagora Group, where communication support was provided to numerous global offices, and Director of Global Mobility at Relocation Today, where a successful international department was established. Additionally, Brailsford has experience as a consultant for the USDA, a Mortgage Loan Specialist at Wells Fargo, and as a Manager/Server at Mr. Friendly's New Southern Cafe. Early experience includes teaching English through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. Educational credentials comprise a Master of Public Administration in Global Policy from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina.

The World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth is an ambitious community of learners, leaders, and thinkers. Together, we engage with authoritative voices to understand global issues that touch local lives and create connections around the world. The Council presents over 100 programs annually, primarily focusing on the international aspects of business, politics, culture and foreign policy. The Council has been educating metroplex citizens on global affairs since 1951. Today, it serves as a gateway to the world for the region, offering an impressive range of programs and events for the public and its more than 4,000 members. The Council takes education directly into North Texas schools through its International Education Initiative. Additionally, it coordinates visits to North Texas of delegations and leaders from around the world through the International Visitor Program and the City of Dallas Office of Protocol.
