Ian Horne

Head Of Data Services at World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO)

Ian Horne has a diverse work experience in the field of data services, database development/administration, and systems management. Ian spent a significant portion of their career at the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), where they served as the Head of Data Services and led the development and delivery of data solutions. Prior to that, Ian worked at Home Learning College as a Data Architect, responsible for the implementation and management of SQL Server databases and the development of the company's business intelligence strategy. Ian also worked at Croydon College, where they held various roles, including Systems Development Manager and Systems Administration Manager, focusing on managing and developing systems and databases to secure government funding. Ian has a strong background in database development, administration, and data analysis.

Ian Horne has a diverse education history. Ian initially attended Croydon College from 1986 to 1988, where they earned a BTEC National Certificate in Public Administration. Later, from 1995 to 2002, Horne pursued a Bachelor's Degree at The Open University, specializing in a Modular Open Degree. During their time at The Open University, they also obtained a Diploma in Computing from 1997 to 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Ian Horne has obtained several certifications. In 2014, they received a First Aid at Work certification from St John Ambulance. In 2015, they earned a PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Furthermore, Horne has acquired various Microsoft certifications related to Azure, including AZURE207x: Databases in Azure, AZURE214x: Azure Fundamentals, and AZURE206x: Microsoft Azure App Service. Finally, in 2018, they completed a course on Creating Interactive Presentations with Shiny and R from Lynda.com, and in 2020, they obtained a certificate in Learn to code for data analysis from The Open University.
