Melissa Arango currently serves as a Junior Professional Associate in the Governance Unit for Latin America and the Caribbean at The World Bank, a position held since June 2023. Prior experience includes an internship at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in the Data Development and Dissemination Section from November 2022 to April 2023, and an internship with GIZ contributing to the Global Partnership on Drug Policies and Development in the latter half of 2018. Additionally, Melissa worked as a Student Tutor at Universidad de los Andes, focusing on Indigenous and Afro-Colombian Cosmology and the Embera language and culture. Melissa holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Universidad de Los Andes.
