Oscar Calvo-Gonzalez is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in international development and economic policy. Currently serving as the Regional Director for Equitable Growth, Finance, and Institutions at The World Bank since September 2006, Oscar has held various leadership roles including Director of Human Development and Economic Management at the Independent Evaluation Group, Practice Manager for the Poverty and Equity Global Practice, and Program Leader for Central America. Prior experience includes serving as Principal Economist and Economist at the European Central Bank from August 2002 to August 2006, and as an Associate at L.E.K. Consulting. Oscar holds a PhD in Economic History and a Master of Science from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Economic History from the University of Leicester.
