Pierre J. Gerber

Senior Agriculture Economist at World Bank

Pierre J. Gerber is a Senior Agriculture Economist at The World Bank since January 2015 and also serves as a Senior Livestock Specialist and Special Professor at World Bank/Wageningen University since May 2018. Previously, Pierre held the position of Senior Policy Officer at FAO from 2003 to 2014, focusing on livestock system analysis, global modeling, sustainable development pathways for animal supply chains, environmental indicators, and multi-stakeholder partnerships. Pierre’s academic qualifications include a Doctor of Science in Agricultural Economics from ETH Zürich, a Post Graduate degree in Preservation and Conservation of Historic Gardens from Ecole d'Architecture de Versailles, a Master’s degree in Environmental Law and Land Planning from Nantes Université, and a Master’s degree in Agronomy from L'Institut Agro Rennes-Angers.
