William R. Sutton

Global Lead For Climate Smart Agriculture at World Bank

William R. Sutton, commonly known as Bill, is an accomplished agricultural economist with extensive experience in climate-smart agriculture and sustainable development. Currently serving as the Global Lead for Climate-Smart Agriculture at The World Bank since June 2015, Bill leads the CSA Team and has previously coordinated significant investment projects in China. Prior roles include Cluster Leader at the Independent Evaluation Group, overseeing evaluations in environment and agriculture, and Senior Agricultural & Resource Economist at The World Bank, managing multi-million dollar projects in various regions. Bill holds a PhD and MS in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis, and a BA in Economics from UC Irvine, along with other academic experiences in Europe.
