Ayyaz Mehmood

Ayyaz Mehmood has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Ayyaz currently holds the position of Director of Digital and IT at World Defense Show since January 2021. Before this, they worked at Airbus Defence and Space for almost a decade, starting from March 2011 and ending in December 2020. Ayyaz served as the GPT Head of IT, where they were responsible for providing efficient and scalable IT operations to the organization and its clients. Additionally, they defined and applied IT standards, policies, and processes while working closely with a full revenue and capex budget.

Prior to their time at Airbus Defence and Space, Ayyaz Mehmood held several leadership roles in the IT sector. Ayyaz served as the Astrium Services Head of IT at Airbus Secure Communications from October 2007 to March 2011. Ayyaz also worked as the Head of IT at Paradigm Secure Communications Ltd from 2007 to 2008, where they managed all IT operations and the welfare communication infrastructure for over 20,000 users. Before that, they worked at Paradigm Services as an IT Manager from October 2006 to October 2007, where they implemented continuous improvement plans and managed third-party IT providers.

Ayyaz Mehmood's earlier experiences include serving as the Head of IT Services at NHS-Whipps Cross University Hospital from April 2004 to October 2006. Ayyaz also held various positions at Sapient, where they worked as the Head of IT-Europe from January 2001 to April 2002 and as the General Manager from May 1998 to December 2000. At Sapient, they were responsible for managing office operations, hiring, finance, and IT.

In the early stages of their career, Ayyaz Mehmood worked as the IT Director at Gresham Bell Ltd from December 1994 to March 1998, where they were responsible for the overall quality of projects and the growth of technical skills within the company. Ayyaz also served as the IT Director at City Systems Ltd from 1989 to 1998.

Overall, Ayyaz Mehmood has gained extensive experience in various leadership positions in the IT sector and displayed a consistent track record of managing IT operations, implementing improvement plans, and driving organizational growth.

Ayyaz Mehmood holds a PGD in Information Systems from the University of East London, which they obtained in 1988. Prior to that, they earned an HND in IT from the same university between 1985 and 1987. In terms of certifications, Ayyaz has obtained several, including Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from the International Scrum Institute™ and VMware Certified Associate - Digital Business Transformation 2020 from VMware, both in 2020. Other certifications include Information Assurance/Data Protection (GDPR) from Airbus Defence and Space in 2018, Black Belt: Continual Service Improvement (Silver) from Airbus in 2009, and ITIL Service Management from ISEB in 2005. Additional certifications include Microsoft Certfied Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) from Microsoft in 2002, Tests for Selection & Training (Psychometric Testing) from Thomas International in 1996, ISO 9001 Auditing & Assurance from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance in 1996, and CCNA from Cisco in July 2020.
