Engagement Manager For Ifacc at World Economic Forum

Fernanda Gimenes has a diverse background in sustainability and environmental consulting. Fernanda is currently working as an Engagement Manager for IFACC at the World Economic Forum since April 2022. Prior to this, they were a Consultant at UN Environment from October 2017 to May 2022.

Fernanda was responsible for defining eligibility and selection criteria, preparing the application process, and coordinating the evaluation process.

Furthermore, Fernanda has organizational experience as a Co-Organizer of the Brazil Forum UK, a platform for interdisciplinary debates on Brazil, from October 2016 to September 2017. Their role involved coordinating discussions and proposing solutions for the country.

Prior to these roles, Fernanda worked at Cebds from 2010 to 2016, first as a Sustainability Assistant, then as a Sustainability Analyst and WBCSD Liaison, and finally as a Sustainability Manager and WBCSD Liaison. Fernanda was involved in sustainability initiatives and acted as a liaison with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

Fernanda's earlier experience includes an internship at UN Environment in 2008 and a research internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil in 2007. Fernanda also worked as a Research Associate at Domani Consultoria Internacional from 2006 to 2007.

Fernanda Gimenes has a diverse education history. Fernanda began their academic journey at the Universidade de Brasília from 2005 to 2009, where they attained a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs. Building on this foundation, they pursued a Master's degree in Sustainable Development from the same university, which they completed from 2009 to 2011.

Seeking to further their knowledge and expertise, Fernanda enrolled in an Executive Course on Project Management and Negotiation at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro in 2014, providing their with valuable skills in these areas. In the same year, they also expanded their understanding of natural capital and resource systems by completing an Executive Course at the Yale School of Management through the Global Network for Advanced Management initiative.

Continuing their studies in the field of environment and development, Fernanda joined The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) for a Master's Degree program, specializing in Environment and Development. This program lasted from 2016 to 2017, allowing their to delve deeper into their area of interest.

Currently, Fernanda is pursuing their highest level of education, a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, in Environmental Policy and Development at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). This program commenced in 2018 and is expected to conclude in 2023. Through this rigorous doctoral program, Fernanda aims to advance their understanding of environmental policy and development, becoming an expert in their chosen field.
