Giorgio Parolini

Aviation Decarbonisation Lead at World Economic Forum

Giorgio Parolini currently serves as the Aviation Decarbonisation Lead at the World Economic Forum since February 2024. Prior to this, Giorgio was an Energy & Mobility Strategy expert at KPMG from September 2022 to January 2024, focusing on sustainable aviation fuels and leading various decarbonisation initiatives. At the Department for Transport in the United Kingdom, Giorgio held positions as Head of Advanced Fuels and Senior Policy Advisor, playing key roles in developing sustainable aviation fuel programs and coordinating climate change policies for international events such as COP25 and COP26. Giorgio also engaged in research on ride-hailing and electromobility at Tongji University and contributed to electric vehicle infrastructure initiatives during a prior tenure at the Department for Transport. Academic credentials include an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London, a Policy Fellowship at the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor's Degree in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
