Madeleine Sophia Brandes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy, water resources, and circular economy initiatives. Currently serving as the Global Policy and Metrics Lead at the World Economic Forum since December 2018, Madeleine has held various roles focused on resource circularity and plastics during this tenure. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Advisor for Economic Affairs & Science at the German Embassy in Ottawa and Project Manager at Hölscher Wasserbau GmbH, specializing in groundwater modeling and water treatment. Madeleine's educational background encompasses a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from Technische Universität Berlin, a Master's in Global Political Economy from McMaster University, and a Bachelor's in International Development & Political Economy from Trent University. Additionally, Madeleine has participated in programs at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health.
