Arjun Thapan

Arjun Thapan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in water management and development finance, currently serving as a Senior Advisor in Asian Development Finance at the World Food Programme since October 2019. As Chairman of WaterLinks since November 2011, Arjun promotes partnerships among water operators to enhance operational efficiency across Southeast Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, and Pacific Islands. Previous roles include Chair of the Advisory Board for UNESCO's International Hydrological Programme and Special Senior Advisor to the President of the Asian Development Bank, where Arjun guided initiatives in infrastructure and water. Arjun has held various advisory and committee positions, contributing to global discussions on water security and management. Arjun holds a Master's degree in Economics, History, and Politics from Delhi University, attended Mayo College in Ajmer, India, and has been a prominent public speaker on water issues.
