World Food Programme
Fernando Ubarana serves as the Regional Food Safety and Quality Officer at the World Food Programme since June 2021, overseeing food safety and quality assurance for hunger-relief operations across 15 countries in the Middle East, Northern Africa, and Eastern Europe. Prior to this, Fernando held various positions at Nestlé S.A. from February 2012 to May 2021, including Regional Food Safety Expert and Market Food Safety Manager, where responsibilities encompassed implementing global food safety strategies and managing food safety management systems. Fernando's extensive career also includes roles at SGS from October 1996 to January 2012, where responsibilities spanned training, auditing, and consulting in food safety. Fernando's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and advanced studies in Quality and Productivity, Philosophy, and Supply Chain Management.
