Diana Rojas Alvarez MD PhD is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in epidemiology and tropical health. Currently serving as Medical Officer and Team Lead for Arboviruses at the World Health Organization since August 2020, Diana previously worked as a Lecturer and researcher at James Cook University from August 2019 to August 2020. Diana's earlier roles include Postdoctoral Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Florida from August 2013 to July 2019, and investigator positions at Universidad Industrial de Santander and Centro de Atencion y Diagnostico de Enfermedades Infecciosas from June 2011 to July 2013. Notably, Diana served as a national reference for dengue and yellow fever at the Instituto Nacional de Salud from February 2006 to March 2011 and contributed as a member of the International Technical Group on Dengue with the Pan American Health Organization. Diana holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Health from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and an MD from Universidad El Bosque.
