Sarah Garner

Senior Policy Advisor WHO EURO at World Health Organization

Sarah Garner is a highly experienced professional in health policy and research, currently serving as a Senior Policy Advisor at the World Health Organization (WHO) since May 2017. In this role, Sarah leads the Innovation, Access and Use team within the Essential Medicines and Health Products Department, focusing on enhancing pharmaceutical and technology systems for Universal Health Coverage. Additionally, Sarah holds honorary professorships at University College London and The University of Manchester and has contributed to various significant initiatives, including serving as European Conference Co-chair for ISPOR and as a fellow at the Centre for the Advancement of Sustainable Medical Innovation. Previous roles include Associate Director of Science Policy and Research at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and participation in the UK Regulation of Medicines Review Panel. Sarah earned a PhD in Health Technology Assessment and a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours from the University of Nottingham.
