Claire Nakabugo

Claire Nakabugo is an Associate Scientific Officer at the World Meteorological Organization since July 2021, specializing in hydrology and water resources management with a focus on socio-hydrology, flood forecasting, and the Water Energy Food Ecosystems Nexus. Prior to this role, Claire worked as a Climate Resilience and Adaptation Consultant at Oxenu and served in various capacities at the International Hydropower Association, including Research and Policy Consultant and Research & Policy Intern. Early professional experience includes a role as a Water Engineer at Vala Associates, where contributions involved hydrological monitoring and hydraulic structure design, as well as field interview work for the Kampala Drainage Master Plan at SMEC. Academic qualifications consist of a Master's degree in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Makerere University.
