Deirdre Cogan

Deirdre Cogan, PhD, serves as the Deputy Director of Communications for the Climate, Economics and Finance Program at the World Resources Institute since July 2021. Previously, Deirdre held the position of Communications Manager within the Climate Program at WRI, emphasizing practical solutions for global challenges related to food, forests, water, energy, climate, the ocean, and cities. Earlier experience includes serving as Senior Editor at the Access to Medicine Foundation, Communications Manager at TheSocialMedwork, and an Education and Public Engagement Fellow at Science Foundation Ireland. Deirdre's academic background includes a PhD in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Dublin City University, along with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and a Certified Project Management Diploma.
