Lillian Torres has over 25 years of experience in development and fundraising within large organizations focused on sustainable urban development and environmental issues. Currently serving as the Director of Development at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities since November 1997, Lillian leads global fundraising strategies and donor engagement for a substantial program. Previous roles at the World Resources Institute include Senior Manager of Institutional Engagement and Development, Director of Development Operations and International Philanthropy, and Manager of Development Operations, contributing to critical proposal development and institutional fundraising policies. Lillian's career also includes positions at the Environmental and Energy Study Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, House of Ruth, and Conservation International. Lillian holds a Master’s degree in Applied Anthropology and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science - International Relations, both from the University of Maryland.
