Michael Onchabo

Michael Onchabo currently serves as the Director of the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) Kenya at the World Resources Institute since July 2023, where leadership is provided in developing and implementing Kenya's Food and Land Use strategy, focusing on critical transitions in food systems transformation. Prior to this, Michael held various roles at Rainforest Alliance from August 2017 to August 2023, including Country Director and Training and Certification Manager, where responsibilities included training, certification program oversight, and stakeholder engagement in the tea and coffee sectors. Michael's early experience includes positions at Fairtrade Africa, The Wood Foundation, and several consulting roles, alongside a strong educational background with a Master's degree in Soil Science and ongoing Ph.D. studies in Integrated Soil Fertility Management from Kenyatta University.
